PostHeaderIcon Learn How April Fool’s Day Just Began

Each year on the beginning of April people are busy getting projects done at work or finishing up homework at school. The majority are too busy too know that it is the one time of year when things can go wrong and everything points to the fact that they may be being pranked. April Fool’s is a long time tradition in which we endeavor to pull things over on other people. Did you ever stop to think how it all started?

There are a few distinct accounts as to when and why this tradition got begun. The most ordinary version is that the day was first accepted when the reformed Gregorian calendar was finished in 1564. Before this was completed and accepted New Year’s Day was celebrated on March 25th. The celebrations would continue on April 1st.

PostHeaderIcon Artist Lea Kelley – An Introduction

I recently had a delightful conversation with artist Lea Kelley about her art, her process, and life in general. The phenomenal talent Kelly possesses for connecting life and art were clear to me within the very first few moments of our conversation. I found our discussion to be both exciting and enlightening. It was a real treat for me to visit with someone with the insight and goodness that she exudes. She was engaging and energetic. Not pushy, but anxious to let me discover her world little by little, a good listener who seemed to perceive my question almost before I could ask it. Over the next few months I will be doing a series of articles about Kelley and some of her work. This is an unusual step for me, but one that I hope readers will enjoy. This first article is meant to be a general introduction.
